Scientists from the University of Texas at Austin have released a video showing a black butterfly in Texas.
They said it is the first time the species has been photographed in the state.
They also released the video on Monday, a day before a scheduled meeting of the state’s wildlife commission in Houston.
The video is titled “Black Butterfly,” and it is based on field recordings of a white-winged black butterfly.
They released the clip on the day the commission was scheduled to meet in Houston to discuss the distribution of endangered species.
The commission is tasked with considering conservation plans and plans for future management.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has identified the black butterfly as a threatened species, and it has been designated as endangered under the Endangered Species Act.
Texas is home to about 100 black butterflies, including about 60 breeding pairs in the Lone Star State.
The state also has about 100,000 black bats.
